Hi All,
As part of our task seqeunce we have a 'Core Application Pack. containing things like Adobe Reader, Java, Flash, and Shockware, basically those niiggly applications that get updated frequently and which are commnon to all desktops within my infrastructure.
At the moment we are applyoing this as part of the task seqeunce using the 'Add>>General>>Install Application' feature of the task seqeunce editor.
Now then these applications get updated frequently due to security threats etc so once an update comes out it means updating each task seqeuence to reflect the new version of the updated software.
Im thinking there has got to be an easier way to do this as part of a task seqeunce, so my question is is couldnt the 'Add>>General>>Run Command Line' step be used to call an install.bat file that contains commands to install each application which is contained in a package? This way the task seqeunces dont need to be updated only the package folder and the install.bat file to add/change the command lines..
I have tried this but it hasnt worked, well not for all apps.. if anyone has done something similar and would like to share their method i would greatly appreicate it.....
Many thanks,
