Hi,
I have one SCCM 2012 sp1 cu2 server with four Distribution points running on W2k8 R2 server.
We have been distributing Appv applications for many months now, and I have just come across one application which is missing a couple of osd files on the DP, so when the user tries to install the application it fails due to not being able to find these two files.
The Appv application is deployed and sent to the DP's without error. All the logs look ok, it tranfers correctly and appears on the DP's (however, it is missing the two osd files). Also when the application is deployed, these two shortcuts do not appear in the publish applications tab. Even though these two shortcuts don't appear in the published tab, I still though that they would be distributed though since they are in the applications installation folder - obviously I'm wrong on that one.
I'm wondering if this is to do with the facts that the osd file names are similar, but they are not exactly the same e.g. one osd is named "Tecra (2nd Edition).osd" another is "Tecra (2nd Edition) (1).osd" and the one which is missing is called "Tecra (2nd Edition) 2014.0.0.119.osd" The guids are all different for each one, and I can't see anything inside the osd file that looks the same and would cause SCCM to skip over the file.
Is there any other logs I can check to find out why it is skipping these files when initially deploying the app, or any pointers/tips as to how I can edit the osd file an get them published? I'm not an appv packager, but they say the problem is with SCCM.
I have added the same application into an Appv Management server and all shortcuts show up (although it uses the sprj file to do this instead of the xml file which SCCM uses.
