I am running SCCM 2012 SP1. I set it up last October following the guide on windows-noob.com. Everything has gone smoothly. One thing he does though, is let all users have read access to the folder where you store all of your application installation source
files. Is this a requirement of SCCM or does he do this for convenience? I ask because I'm about to start using SCCM for machine imaging and will need to deploy Office, something I haven't done yet. We are a university and not everyone is at the same version
and if they want the new version they would have to pay. If an automated install script of office is available on the network, this poses a large licensing issue for me. Can I lock users accounts out of this directory and only allow the SCCM Service accounts
or machine accounts? Is there something else that will work? Thanks for your help!
