Dear experienced SCCM admins,
I would like to ask you about the following situation: I recently downloaded Cisco Anyconnect VPN software in an MSI package. I also created an application of it, with a single deployment method and released it to currently two PCs with required installation and an already passed deadline. Because of this, every new PC I add to the collection will get that software "immediately" (if everything is good). The question would be the following: Anyconnect can update itself in a greatly perfect way, so there is absolutely no need for SCCM anymore for it, just for installing. As I know, SCCM periodically checks the installed/removed applications and if a user for example removes Anyconnect, SCCM will install it again, because of the required assignment, right? But what will be after the software is self-upgraded? Will SCCM think that it was removed? Or will it know that it is the same software and just an upgrade happened?
Please forgive me, I'm quite new to this product, so I don't truly know how these software are discovered and kept track of them.
Thanks for your help again!!
Chris
