How to update application changes on DPs without re-creating an application

How do I update the changes in the following scenarios without having to re-create the Application:

1. I make a change in the Application itself, not the actual package source binary. For instance, I check the "Display this as a featured app and highlight it in the company portal" check box on the "Application Catalog" tab.
2. I make changes to the actual installation binary file located in the package source.
