Where do the files go when deployed?

I created a new Application.   I deployed this to a test machine.   The software installs on my 1 target machine and works.   But I don't see where this file goes.  Explain.....   When I created the application I added it to 1 DP.  I look at this DP and I see the following folders.

SMSPKGH$  (empty)

SMSPKGSIG (has a few package folders but NOT the application I deployed)

SMSSIG$ (has .TAR files that match the folders in smspkgsig but no .tar file for the application I deployed)

And on my target machine I see no Cache folder.   The only thing I see is c:\windows\CIDownloader    

So where is the Application on the server and where does it get copied too on the local workstation?
