Pre-Stage / Pre-Cache Package in Client Cache?

I am looking for a way to pre-cache a package in the local client cache for deployment at a later date.  Is this possible to do with ConfigMgr 2012?  

I found this post from awhile back?  Is setting the deployment date in the future a viable option?
