Hello,
This is to check my understanding of the "Max number of packages" and "Max threads per package" setting. Using the default:
Maximum number of packages: 3
Maximum threads per package: 5
My understanding if I deploy package CM100001 to 8 DP's it equals 1 package, and will transfer to 5 of the 8 DP's and as 1 DP finishes the next DP takes its sport to download the content, but leaving 2 packages to be available if I need to send another package at the same time.
The reason I ask is because I need to set "Pulse Mode" for 3-4 sites due to their seemingly slow, but reliable, connection. By setting pulse mode I am limiting transfers to 1 package at a time to those sites. By limiting I am making the time to transfer larger packages, 2 gigs, be hours of time. I want to be sure that if I am transferring a 2 gig file to those sites it is not using all 3 available packages, and only 3-4 of the threads, for that package, but still have 2 packages available to be transfered. I can live with this if that's the case. I could even increase threads.
Hope my thoughts make sense.
