Hello,
is it possible to deploy a Driver package to an installed operating System without reinstalling the hole Computer?
Hello,
i want to test a new Driver package without doing a hole OSD. Is this possible to do in a Task sequence?
I have been working for a couple of weeks diagnosing the error with my /CMApplicationCatalog where it reports "The web site cannot communicate with the server. This might be a temporary problem. Try again later to see if the problem has been corrected. If this problem continues, contact your help desk."
This is a single instance box with Config Manager and SQL residing together. I installed everything by the book for my environment. (But I'm here asking for help, so apparently that's not entirely true)
I have searched all through Technet, Google, and anything else I can find. I've identified the cause of my error, just not how to fix it. Looking at my IIS settings for /CMApplicationCatalogSvc under the Connection Strings, I changed the Encrypt=True to Encrypt=False and that fixed my /CMApplicationCatalog. However, every time a I reboot it reverts back to Encrypt=True thus breaking my /CMApplicationCatalog. Obviously, I'd prefer it to be encrypted. Now I'm hear, asking for guidance.
When I look at the certificate options for my SQL server I have 2 options. The first is "ConfigMgr SQL Server Identification Certificate" that is self signed (obviously that's my problem). The latter option is a cert signed by my CA that is trusted by my clients, but SQL will not start when I select that certificate.
How do I setup a signed cert with SQL?
My connection string
Data Source=lpc:(local);Initial Catalog=CM_XXX;Integrated Security = true;Connection Timeout=50;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=False;Application Name=Application Offer Service
I usually just package and push the adobe flash activex and plugin for the end users. This time when I installed the version 16.0.x, I noticed the plugin name shows in the add remove programs center as "NPAPI". Do I need to install PPAPI also? By checking on this page "http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/", do I need to install all of them for the windows 7 users or just activex for ie and npapi for the chrome users?
Thanks in advance.
Hi Guys,
One of the packages was failing to validate on a DP. I tried to Re-destribute and it didn't work as well. So I removed it from the Content Locations and Distributed the content again.
However I noticed that the package wasn't distributed and hence I tried to distribute the content and suprisingly the DP was in the 'Available Distribution Points' list under the 'Add Distribution Points'. Everytime I redistribute the content I am unable
to see the progress in the Content Status. The 'Distribute Content Wizard' always completes successfully but nothing happens in the Content Status only for this particular DP.
SMSDProv.log and SMSDPMon.log doesn't even have any entries for this.
DistMgr.log says the following:

What could be causing this behaviour?
Thanks very much for your help in this matter.
I'm wanting to deploy an application in SCCM to machines in which a particular registry key does NOT exist. By default, "This registry setting must exist on the target system to indicate presence of this application" but I don't have any other available options because I am not looking for any particular value of the key.
Below is my current Detection Rule:
Basically, I'm in search of a way to set it to "This registry setting mustNOT exist on the target system to indicate presence of this application.
Any suggestions?

Hello,
Office 2010 Standard is installed on most of our Computers. Now we have to replace it with Office 2010 ProPlus.
I created a script which uses an MSP during the installtion. Here i configure, that all old Versions should be uninstalled.
See the attached screenshot (sorry ist in German).
Unfortunatly the Standard Version is not removed automatically.
I added this unsinatll line to my installton script:
"%programfiles(x86)%\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\OFFICE14\Office Setup Controller\setup.exe" /uninstall STANDARD /config %~dp0Remove_Standard\config_uninstall.xml
and ist working if Office 2010 Standard is installed. But if ist not installed, I am getting a message which has to be apllied and so a sielent installtion is not possible.
Any ideas?
Hi
I'm about to create a application for Office 365 in Configuration Manager 2012 R2.
I've seen recommendation to look for %programfiles%\Microsoft Office 15\root\Office15. But will that not break when office is upgraded on the client?
In registry I've HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\O365ProPlusRetail - en-us. And for the looks of it I cannot use this if a user decides to download and install a different version than en-us.
Any idea on what detection rule I should use for Office 365 that works for next versions of Office 365 (office 2015)?
Hey All,
i am trying to utilize the application request feature in the SCCM web catalog.
our environment look something like this atm:
i have added a link on the ServiceNow catalog portal to direct the the user to the SCCM web Catalog where the user can request all in-house software from there, but i still have to follow the current process.
is there a way i can achieve the above without Microsoft Service Manager? is there a way to get SCORCH to pickup the approval request and handle it?
thanks in advance guys.
We recently setup SCCM and we are implementing a software cleanup for all the users.
Before the cleanup, i need to restrict all users to install any software.
I would like to ask for solution (preferrably GPO or script) that i can use so that users will not be able to install any programs but only from SCCM.
Regards Ram
Hi,
I have created an application for MS office 2010 Pro plus and deployed to clients successfully. But while creating the .MSP file I enterd the Product key but forgot to specify the activation method ( auto_Activate =1).
My question is "is there any method to auto activate already installed office program" by sccm or GPO . If I again created a new .MSP file and put in to Update folder will sort out this issue?
PLease help me to fix it.
Thanks

I have created msi application version 2, in superseding I configure uninstallation of old version
App deployed for collection and showed in Software Center.
If I install it in Software Center, old app is removed, new installed (appenforce.log tells it), and its ok for some time.
After PC checks for software deployment, Software Center asks to install new app again.
But its installed and works.
in AppIntentEval.log I can see this record:
<![LOG[ScopeId_C499A53E-0FFD-4150-8731-0DF9D0B88558/Application_07897b40-25ff-4c91-af1e-0c5a914bd0ee/6 :- Current State = NotUpdated, Applicability = Applicable, ResolvedState = Installed, ConfigureState = NotNeeded, Title = Клиентская часть системы DIRECTUM 4.91.1908]LOG]!><time="09:54:55.223-300" date="11-27-2014" component="AppIntentEval" context="" type="1" thread="1364" file="appconstructs.cpp:3057">
What does it meens Current State = NotUpdated ?
How can I fix it?
I found Ronni's guide for deploying Office 2013 via SCCM 2012 and it's perfect and works great but I have a question. We have differnet license codes for different areas of our organization. In his guide he shows you how to create the Office Customization file (.msp) and to place it in the Updates folder when done. But what if I will have 3 different .msp's in this updates folder? How do I call each one when I do a deployment? Because right now I am just using setup.exe in the installation program of the package and it's only using the one .msp file I have in the updates folder.
Thanks.

I'm getting inconsistent errors when deploying and running app-v applications deployed via SCCM. It seems to be related to HTTPS but I cant put my finger on the cause.
When an application is run, it will often work - however I get these sorts of errors in virtualapp.log

Also communication between clients and management points is HTTPS and working just fine.
Appreciate any pointers as to what can cause this sort of problem

HI,
I am trying to install the WSUS role on a Windows 2012 STD server which is currently configured as a Domain Controller. Getting the below error while doing the post installation configuration.
Log file is located atC:\Users\gblsccmserv1\AppData\Local\Temp\tmp9160.tmp
Post install is starting
Fatal Error: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: identity
Could anyone help on this. Also is there any restriction to install WSUS on a Domain Controller?

Greetings,
This has happened a few times now over the last couple of weeks. At first I thought it was just a once-off bug, but it keeps coming back and I can't see any patterns to identify the cause or trigger.
Sometimes when I start a Deployment from the Software Center the Status gets stuck at "Installing" and never moves beyond that. It has happened for OSD task sequences as well as Package/programs. In both cases the same Deployment works on other machines, or has worked on this same machine previously. It's not always the same programs, and there seems to be no particular pattern I can find to cause it.
Restarting the SMS Agent doesn't resolve, it just comes up as "Installing" again after the agent has restarted. I've tried clearing the adverts from the client and no difference, restarting the computer also makes no difference... it just comes back as "Installing"
If I remove the computer from the deployment, it dissapears from the Software Center, and when I add the deployment back again it re-appears in Software Center as "Installing" again.
Doing a client repair (ccmrepair) doesn't fix it. Doing a client re-install (with always re-install) doesn't fix it either. I have to completely remove the existing client and reinstall to clear the problem, but that makes the client then appear as a completely new device in CM12 so that's not a very reasonable resolution.
The only log entry I can find that seems to indicate an error is in execmgr.log where an entry saying "OnContentAvailable invalid request GUID handle" appears several times. I have no idea what it means. Running the same deployment on another computer works fine.
Clients are all Windows7 SP1 32bit.
