Hi

I need to customize my application deployment on the following sequence:

  1. Install main application (msi)
  2. Copy config file (ibases.v8i) to user directory (%AppData%\1C\1CEStart).

I create 2 applications:

  1. Main application from msi file
  2. SFX Archive with config file. This application depend from main application and deployed for user and require primary device.

Second application use file detection like on image

But this detection not work and deployment fail with . In DCMWmiProvider.log I see next error:

CAppExecutionLibrary::ExpandEnvironmentVariables: %AppData%\1C\1CEStart\ evaluated to : %AppData%\1C\1CEStart\	FileSystemWMIProvider	18.04.2013 19:39:54	5412 (0x1524)

CAppExecutionLibrary::ExpandEnvironmentVariables: %ProgramFiles% evaluated to : C:\Program Files	FileSystemWMIProvider	18.04.2013 19:39:54	5412 (0x1524)
What i need change to use file detection for %AppData% folder

Dynamics Application Installing problems

Updated Detection Method is not recognized by clients

Hi all,

I am having troubles with deploying Applications (in this specific case it's Office 2016 ProPlus C2R) when the detection method has been changed afterwards.

SCCM is updated to version 1606, the client runs Windows 10 Enterprise.

To save some time I copied my existing Office 2013 application, changed the content and deployed it to my test machine. Unfortunately I forgot to change the detection method to something that is unique for Office 2016 and so the existing Office 2013 and the new Office 2016 had the same detection method which caused the Software Center to show the new one as already installed.

So far so dumb, but changing the detection method will fix that issue. At least I thought.

I changed the detection method to Windows Installer and added the new Product Code. Afterwards updating the content on my DP and enforcing the polices on my client. But exactly the same behavior, it's still shown as installed.

As that was two days ago, I had a look at the AppDiscovery.log today and noticed that the client is still trying to detect the old revision.

What am I supposed to do in order to get the discovery process looking for the new revision?

The last time I had such an issue was with the last time we rolled out Office 365. I had a script that for the installation and changed the script afterwards in order to reset the licensing (there were some issues). Even some weeks later there were clients that ran the installation with the old version of the script (they downloaded it the same day as the installation). We never found a solution for this issue.

Maybe I am missing some basic knowledge.

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Fabian

Application Running as User Context

Why does an application run as user context (appenforce.log) when it is set to install for system in the application? I want the end user to be able to go into Software Center, click install on the application, and have it run as system. This is critical for non-admin users to install application during maintenance windows if they desire.

Run installation and uninstallation program as 32 bit process on 64 bit clients

Experts,

I'm trying to understand this option available under application packaging.

How does this option help ?

Hello,

I have a new external site which will be doing all imaging processes for us... SiteK. I have installed a Distribution point at this site KSTSCCMDP01.

I am testing the deployment of an image as I was doing previously in the office... I saw i n the smsts.log some access to old DPs.. VRPSCCMDP01 & VRPSCCMDP02. I have checked the boundaries of the new DP they are correct.

Application Fails to uninstall - Rule is in conflict with other rules

I am trying to troubleshoot an application uninstall issue, seems to be site wide. So far I have tried Adobe Flash and Office 2010, both fail to uninstall and cite error code 0x80040322 - Rule is in conflict with other rules and when I look at the conflicts I see that it is in conflict with the MSI required by the app?

These are applications imported using the MSI's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Retry failed application deployment

Hey all,

I am working on a new SCCM infrastructure, and am currently testing out application deployment using SCCM 2012, and I am new to Config Manager.  I am deploying applications to computers (not users) and setting it to required and to install ASAP.  I have collections setup such as "Office" and deploy the application to the collection, then have it set so when a device is put in the collection, it will automatically deploy the application there, with no user interaction.

That has been going well most of the time, but sometimes, for various reasons, it will fail to deploy.  In such occasions, it shows as an "Error" in sccm when I view it in the monitoring area, but I cannot figure out how to retry/re-run this.  Does anyone here know how?  I feel like I am missing something very basic

Please let me know if any more details are needed.

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Appx detection Method

$

Hi,

We have Power-BI application deployed as Appx package (v1.0) with auto-update enabled. The application is getting installed to users with no issues and we are getting a success after the installation. The issue starts when the application upgrades at end user. The version of the application changed to  versions greater than v1.0 post upgrade. then SCCM fails to detect the application as the inbuilt detection method of the appx package checks only whether the version is v1.0 or not.

There is no option to change the detection methods of the application.  Is it possible to add a script installer deployment type where we can check the application version and add a detection method where it detects the exe. file is greater than v1.0. So the application can return a success if it upgrades.

Thanks

Package not deploying correctly through SCCM

I've been trying to deploy a package through SCCM and have hit a roadblock.

The scripted install does a number of Application uninstalls/installs including.

Uninstall Oracle 32bit 11.x

Install Oracle 32bit 12.x and Oracle 64bit 12.x

EMC ApplicationXtender.

Oracle installs without issue but ApplicationXtender fails.

Originally I thought it was something to do with SCCM elevating itself to local SYSTEM and not being able to access the share, so I set the package to download before installation (pretty big download).

If I run the install using "psexec.exe -i -s -d cmd.exe" the installation completes without issue.

How to check the latest catalog version available for SCCM

Experts,

Do you have any link or SQL Query to check what is the latest catalog version that is available on SCCM console?

I know if we perform Software Update Synchronization the catalog version updates automatically but is there any other way to check the catalog version.

Run Powershell Script from SCCM in logged in user context using admin rights

Hi,

I am trying to run a powershell script using SCCM package with admin rights using command line switch - "powershell.exe -executionpolicy bypass .\filename.ps1" but it is partially working form me. My script goes to Registry\HKLM and HKU to collect values, it works successfully for HKLM but doesn't collect any value for HKU because SCCM is running script withNT Authority\SYSTEM. Does anyone have any idea how can we run the script from sccm in logged user context with admin rights.

Please help!

SCCM 2012: failed to connect to distribution point

Hi folks,

I have an intermittent issue and can't figure out the reason so far.

I have a primary server and multiple distribution points. The primary does not have a DP configured. When I deploy a new distribution point, I have the following messages:

Distribution Manager failed to connect to the distribution point. Check your network and firewall settings.

and

Distribution Manager failed to find or create the defined share or volume on distribution point.

DistMgr.log shows the following:

CWmi::Connect() failed to connect to \\AMB-SCCM-E.domain.name\root\CIMv2. Error = 0x800706BA

STATMSG: ID=2391 SEV=E LEV=M SOURCE="SMS Server" COMP="SMS_DISTRIBUTION_MANAGER" SYS=BBD-SCCM-E.domain.name SITE=IDC PID=2120 TID=3376 GMTDATE=do jun 28 07:24:17.463 2012 ISTR0="["Display=\\AMB-SCCM-E.domain.name\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=IDC"]\\AMB-SCCM-E.domain.name\" ISTR1="" ISTR2="" ISTR3="" ISTR4="" ISTR5="" ISTR6="" ISTR7="" ISTR8="" ISTR9="" NUMATTRS=1 AID0=404 AVAL0="["Display=\\AMB-SCCM-E.domain.name\"]MSWNET:["SMS_SITE=IDC"]\\AMB-SCCM-E.domain.name\"

Cannot find or create the package share.

Error occurred. Performing error cleanup prior to returning.

However, after a while (couple of hours), it looks like everything is distributed on the DP. But this message keeps on coming back during the course of the day and every time a new DP is deployed.

I checked permissions, IIS, WMI, but I can't find out the cause of this behavior. I have events about WMI (id 5605) but I can connect to the WMI workspace (root\MicrosoftIISv2) with no issues.

Can anyone shed some light on this please? It would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Safdar.

Hi Team,

Where to get the details of "which user deleted antimalware policies (Windows defender) in SCCM"?

Please help me with the log file location or path where to find the details.

User Device Affinity Client Reboots

$

I am planning to use SCCM User Device Affinity data in order to keep tabs on a large pilot group. Basically to ensure users are using the machines we are targeting for pilot. We currently have Auto UDA set for 1800 hours / 7 days. Thus far that seems to be working reasonably well.

One issue I am seeing I don't have an explanation for thus yet is I've come across a number of machines just randomly losing a relationship to a user which should not have. After investigating, it was found the dropout coincided with a reboot. Below is a snippet from the UserAffinity.log from one of them. Every day in the days prior to 5/12 it was at 10080 mins usage (they never log out) and 5/13 dropped to 0 right after the reboot and RelationActive toggled to 0. Every indication is it was a clean reboot. One of the others I observed was definitely not a clean reboot. The machine was power cycled off.

Anyone have any ideas what may have caused this? Is there any data I can pull to assist with this? I would like to be able to rely on UDA but this concerns me. Below is a snippet from the UserAffinity.log. Sorry for the terrible formatting. Probably my first post and they won't allow links or images.
