I have all packages and applications set to Persist in Cache. If I clear the SCCM cert (which you have to when creating a VDI master image unless you want to see some really messed up behavior) then it deletes everything in the cache. It certainly didn't do this in 2007 and I want to know why "persist in cache" doesn't mean "persist in cache".
The result is all of the Active Setup and advertised shortcuts fail on any pooled images because SCCM deleted the source software.
Also, if SCCM just put the packages back into the same folders (like 2007) then this would be less of an issue - SCCM could download them again, but now it picks random folders which means you have to edit the uninstall reg keys to point it to the new source, until SCCM deletes the cache again.
Is there any way to make "persist in cache" actually mean "persist in cache"?
