Scheduled Application deployed early

$

I scheduled a deployment of Office and it started 6 hours before the scheduled time.

The time based on: was set to Client time. Commit changes at deadline or during a maintenance window was checked. I have since unchecked it. It seems the application started deployments began soon after I added a bunch of PCs to the device collection associated with the deployment.

I have done other scheduled deployments with the same application and they kicked off at the scheduled time.

Thanks for any help.

List all deployments which "OverrideServiceWindows"

Using the deployment monitoring tool, I'm able to find a Deployment for a particular client, and view the OverrideServiceWindows property.

This property can be set on the User Experience tab during Deployment, or via Powershell, but I'm not able to find a way to view this for all Deployments...

Any ideas?

The future of the SCCM 2012 application catalog and Google Chrome

$

Hi,

Does anyone know what the future is the SCCM 2012 application catalog and Google Chrome regarding Silverlight? As most of you would be aware by now that Google Chrome V42 and above disables the NPAPI plug-in therefore breaks the application catalog on end user machines if they use the Chrome browser. Now the user can manually enable NPAPI again or it can be done centrally via GPO with a few registry keys. The problem is I read that the NPAPI feature might be removed by September which means access is restricted to IE only.

Is there any plans to migrate to HTML5?

Deploying modern apps to Windows 8.1

I'm little confused with these modern apps that can be installed from Windows Store.

There is one app in windows store that we would like to deploy to all of our Windows 8.1 users.

There is deeplinking and sideloading methotds.

Is it really so that I cannot automatically deploy application from windows store to all users? I have understand that all I can get is a deployment that opens Windows Store to end user and they need to manually start the installation from there? It's total anti-it. It's basically same as I would email Windows Store link to all of our users via email and tell them to install it. This method is called deeplinking if I'm right.

Sideloading method seems to be for modern software where I have access directly to appx files. If I have appx files then I'm able to deploy them automatically to my end users? It's hard to get appx files from public store apps. Only if the developer gives them to me. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We use ConfigMgr 2012 R2.

flash player version

The hospital office that our group are assigned to help is with applications. First hit is to cleanup flash players. About 80 users with all different versions of flash players. The new setup is to have them use only ie11 and chrome browser on windows 7. Chrome updates the flash player plugin itself. Is that safe for us to push flash uninstaller to remove all npapi ppapi activex of version 10/11/15/16 and deploy only the activex of latest 17? Correct me if this is 100% enough safe to do.

Thanks!!

Deploying software to machine manually advice

Good day guys

Currently on SCCM 2012 SP1, and wondering how I can deploy a software package to just one machine. I want to deploy it to one machine as a "available software" in their software centre list.

I understand I have to deploy it to a collection if I want to install it to a bulk amount of workstation, but what if i want to deploy it to just one machine. Is the best practice to just build a collection and manually add the computer name in the membership details?

Also this machine is on a physical site which doesn't have a distribution software system/server, where in the options can I set it so it downloads off the closest remote distribution server?

Thanks very much

NET 4.5.1 failing to be discovered

Hello!

I'm deploying App-V 5.0 SP3 at a customer, however I'm having some issues with the .NET Framework 4.5.1 requirement.

In AppDiscovery.log I keep getting:
Entering ExecQueryAsync for query "select * from CCM_AppDeliveryType where (AppDeliveryTypeId = "ScopeId_A27D2197-89CA-4A34-A912-B0DECE545FD3/DeploymentType_fc35a445-996c-491e-a5a6-a6db2ff27d1e" AND Revision = 12)"

So I went back to my .NET Framework 4.5.1 application.
For installation I'm using a VBS script:

'-------------------------
WshShell.Run currentDirectory & "NDP451-KB2858728-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe /q /norestart /ChainingPackage ADMINDEPLOYMENT", 6, True
WScript.Quit(ErrorCode) 'added so the script pass the errorcode to sccm
'-------------------------
I'm using a VBS script because of this: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/pt-BR/4808233e-1410-4305-a8d1-0e88f3a6fdc8/net-451-install-only-works-when-running-on-a-ui-session?forum=configmanagerapps

And the Detection Method I'm using:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\NET Framework Setup\NDP\v4\Client\Release
Greater or equals to: 378675

OR

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Products\BE4EBED704B66673BB53C5BB3C58AD73\ProductName
Value: Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1
I'm trying to use this one because I'm getting "Application not discovered" in AppDiscovery.log.

Customer's environment is SCCM2012 R2 CU4.

Any ideas?

Unable to install software from the SCCM catalogue when connected via client VPN

Hello All,

I'm very new the SCCM so I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction with the below problem I'm having.

I have added my client VPN subnet as a ip subnet boundary but clients connecting with a client VPN are unable to install software from the SCCM catalogue and fails with the error 0x87D00607 (-2016410105). If I create a boundary for the physical ip address of the network card (My home network) I can install the software.

I take it that it's not be a requirement to create a boundary for my home network and only create a boundary for the VPN subnet.

I'm running SCCM 2012 R2 CU5.

Thanks

Tim

I have also configured to DP to allow anonymously but didn't worked that

For Ref see snapshots

In below snapshot you can clearly see that its using SID of user with whom im logged in.

I'm trying to install Live Meeting 2007 client v806362.215 under SCCM 2012 application model using the .MSI.  "I get a message that says the installer was interrupted before Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 could be installed.  You need to restart the installer to try again." (see attached)

researching the message indicates that there was an issue with the elevated permissions (system account) that the install was trying to use.

Any help would be appreciated.

App-V prereqs install: .NET is asking for reboot but Powershell installs meanwhile(?!)

$

Hi,

I want to deploy App-V 5.0 SP3 to some W7 client which don't have .NET 4.5.1 or Powershell 3.0 (.NET 4.5 is already installed).
Created a dependency to Powershell 3.0 application and  .NET 4.51 application (in that order) but .NET 4.5.1 installs first. No problem BUT the fact it asks for a reboot and AT THE SAME TIME Powershell 3.0 installs. That's pretty confusing for an enduser (it asks for a reboot but another install starts).
Howto make sure Powershell install starts after reboot (or it can start before 4.5.1 or it can install after 4.5.1 but then the reboot should only be asked AFTER install of Powershell 3.0). Can't remove the reboot after 4.5.1 and set it after Powershell since for .NET on itself a reboot is really needed.

Please advise.

Installing from Dist Point?

I have an application that I pushed out to a remote site. The remote site server is set as a distribution point. Some of the PC's did not get the application installed and I would like to manually run it while logged onto their PC. The core install files though are located on our main site server in a different city and the pipe/connection is very small. I would like to instead manually run the install from the distribution server at the remote site for those PC's that are unable to get the application installed via SCCM. Is this possible? If not, any other way around this?

Thanks!

Office 2013 installation sometimes fails during OSD

$

Hello,

I have a strange issue with installation of Office 2013 during operating system deployment. Randomly it fails during some deployments. There is no pattern for failing, random computers, random sites, random distribution points. Maybe some sites fails more often than others but it's not proved by hard data. Furthermore installation runs fine when run manually on faulty hosts or when OSD Task Sequence is rerun on the machine.

So far I found that setup reports issues with disk space and requires some ridiculous amount of space (billions of Pebibytes) so hardware upgrade is not a solution :)

Any ideas how to solve it or troubleshoot further?

Office 2013 Uninstall via Software Centre Fails

This is driving me mad. I've been trying to fix this all week and I cannot get Office 2013 to uninstall via Software Centre or an Uninstall Deployment.

The Office 2013 deployment installs the software without a problem. The uninstall program is set as follows...

setup.exe /uninstall ProPlus /config .\ProPlus.WW\Uninstall.xml

I always test the install, then reboot, run the software, reboot then try to uninstall the software. When I try to uninstall Office 2013 it times out. The AppEnforce CCM Log displays the below text.

Application deployment error - rule is in conflict with other rules

I have 2 applications, ABC version 1.0, this has been deployed to a couple collections, 1 test\QA collection(manually created), and the main deployment collection(AD based Query rule), it was set to required.  I now want to deploy ABC version 2.0.1, so it upgrades the previous version.  It has 2 deployments, one is an upgrade for 1.0, the other is for installs that have never had version 1.0.  I setup supersedence, selected 2.0.1 to supersede 1.0, did not check the uninstall, as the installer for the 2.0.1 version will control that.

However when I deploy, to the Test\QA collection, I get the error message Rule is in conflict with other rules.  Is it because the computes in the Test\QA collection are also in the main deployment collection?  The original deployment for 1.0 is still active, is it necessary for me to cancel that deployment?

Thanks
Mark
