I need to find a way to add a "any" Java version as dependency even the java has didn't deployed using the SCCM.

in the "Dependencies" tab, I'm able to add only sccm applications as dependency.

any advice ?

thanks in advance .

I am running SCCM 2012 R2 and am interested in finding out more about App-V. For starters how do I create an application or package that I  can deploy with app-v and is there a app-v for dummies if you know what I mean?

Windows 10 with SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5

Hi,

I have an environment where we have 1 central site and 13 primary sites. Till now we everything is working fine for OSD, Software distribution, Patch management etc.

Now we have a requirement to deploy Windows 10. Here is the details of my Environment:-

SCCM version : SCCM 2012 SP1 CU5
WADK version : WADK 8.0

We have captured the Windows 10 image with some customization and some of the customization has been applied using Answer file.

Now when we are trying to deploy Windows 10, TS gets failed at the stage of applying answer file settings after downloading and installing the OS. We tried creating the answer file with WADK 10 and WADK 8.0 but none of the answer file worked. Now here are my few questions:-

1) Do we need to upgrade our environment SCCM 2012 SP1 to SCCM 2012 R2 ( Right now we don't want to)
2) Can Windows 10 be deployed with SCCM 2012 SP1 with WADK 8.0
3) Do we need to upgrade the WADK 8.0 to WADK 10 without upgrading SCCM 2012 SP1 to SCCM 2012 R2
4) Do we have to use an answer file created using WADK 8.1

Please suggest some solution as we don't want to upgrade our environment for now. Can we deploy Windows 10 without upgrading.

Hello,

I try to deploy Office 2016 Click-To-Run by SCCM 2012 R2. I use the following article: http://prajwaldesai.com/deploy-office-2016-using-click-to-run-deployment-tool/ but I am still getting the error code 0x87d00324. I have tried to find the solution on the Internet and I have found that it may be caused by incorrect detection method. Here is my detection method:

Hello Together,

i have a problem when i deploy an cmd file. The command has the line "regedit /s registry.reg" which should import a key to the HKCU reg for the current logged on user.

Unfortunatelly the key will not installed since the installer runs with the system account and has no acces to the currend logged on users HKCU registry.

Has anyone an idea how i can add a registry key to the current logged on users HKCU registry?

Best Regards,

Udo

I have an application setup to supersede another application and is set to use the uninstall option.

The uninstall completes in under 1 minute but 3 hours passes before the install is executed.

Five minutes after the uninstall completed I can see that the discovery runs again and does not detect the new application.

SCCM 2012 Windows 7 Client Stuck Downloading Information

Hi All

We have several DP's throughout the company, 102 in total, I have 1 client (that I know of) that is failing to install some software and the software centre is reporting that the application is currently ' Downloading Information '. Now the software in question has been installed on every other desktop in the office which reports into that DP, so im thinking that the problem is local on the desktop.

I have disabled the AV (we use Trend) this has made no different, I can get to the software via the HTTP link but as this software uses a task sequence I cannot manually install it that way.

Any one please help this has been driving me crazy all day,

Regards

Unattended Install of FIM 2010 R2

I am attempting to create an unattended silent install of Identity Manager. I created the package and used the command line for installing Add-ins and Extensions msiexec /q /i “\\My Server\f$\Source\Applications\Microsoft\Microsoft Identity Manager 2016\Client Extensions\x64\Add-ins and extensions.msi" ADDLOCAL=OfficeClient,PasswordClient PORTAL_LOCATION=http://myportal:8088 PORTAL_PREFIX=http RMS_LOCATION=portalserverlocationMONITORED_EMAIL=myemail@company.com REGISTRATION_PORTAL_URL=http://myregistrationsite:8080 /L*v C:\mylogfile.txt. However when viewing the AppEnforce.log file of the machine in question I am seeing the following error: Invalid command line, quotes not properly closed in the command line. I am unsure of where to go from here as I am not seeing in the command line where I have improperly closed the command.

SCCM 2012 Triggering App Deployment

Powershell Detection Method

$

We are running SCCM 2012 R2 CU4.

We have a GPO at the root of the domain setting the Powershell execution policy to Allow only signed scripts. In the SCCM Client Settings I have the Powershell execution policy set to Bypass.

I have my Powershell script signed with a certificate that's in the computer's Trusted Publishers store. I can run the script locally on my test computer and it runs as expected. In SCCM on the Deployment Type -> Detection Method I choose custom script, Powershell as my type and I browse and import my signed script. SCCM reports my script length is the same number of lines as the actually script.

When I do an Application Deployment check I can see in the AppDiscovery.log where it tries to run the script. But it errors out saying:

In-line script returned error output: File C:\Windows\CCM\SystemTemp\64c32b3d-e1b1-408d-a083-30057ce2cb29.ps1 cannot
be loaded. The file C:\Windows\CCM\SystemTemp\64c32b3d-e1b1-408d-a083-30057ce2c
b29.ps1 is not digitally signed. The script will not execute on the system. Ple
ase see "get-help about_signing" for more details..
At line:1 char:2
+ & <<<<  'C:\Windows\CCM\SystemTemp\64c32b3d-e1b1-408d-a083-30057ce2cb29.ps1'
    + CategoryInfo          : NotSpecified: (:) [], PSSecurityException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : RuntimeException

It says the script is "not digitally signed".

I can see in the log the command it is trying to run so I know it's using the -ExecutionPolicy Bypass switch:

Script command line: "C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe" -NoLogo -Noninteractive  -ExecutionPolicy Bypass "& 'C:\Windows\CCM\SystemTemp\64c32b3d-e1b1-408d-a083-30057ce2cb29.ps1'"

I have a copy of the script on my test machine. When I run the above command replacing the temp script with the actually script it runs fine. When I use PSexec to run a command prompt as system and run the command it runs fine.

In all honesty, the Powershell Detection Method has never worked for us even after installing CU2 which was suppose to fix it. I'm not sure what we're doing wrong here since there are countless articles online that says this works perfectly. Is the problem the GPO? But since the script is actually signed this shouldn't be a problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Application deployment Stucked since 5 days

Hi Everybody,

I meet the same problem. I'm trying to run a task sequence which perform the following operations :

  • install an application (Java JRE 1.6.0 update 29) . This application is correctly configured (install from task sequence is enbaled, install in standalone run perfectly)
  • make some changes in the registry : REG ADD "HKLM\Software\Javasoft\Java Update\Policy" /V EnableJavaUpdate /T REG_DWORD /D 0 /F

I advertise this Task sequence to a collection of computers.

Computers receive notification to install in the software Center about a new application deployment is available. When i start the deployment, software center displays the following message : "Wainting for Install"

But no download (nothing in the ccmcache folder), Nothing in the AppEnforce.log file.

I just noticed that errors are visible in the TSAgent.log :

  • Error initializing policy environment variables. Code 0x8007000e
  • Error initializing TS environment. Code 0x8007000e
  • Task sequence launcher advertisement failed!. Code 0x8007000e

Any help will be really appreciated

Different Deployment Type requirement to detect Task Sequence install

$

Hi guys,

For all of our a la carte software installs I used the PSADT which allows me to show users a nice little GUI with notifications and what not. Only problem is you must install using 'Only when a user is logged in' and 'Allow user to interact ...'.

We have a couple of applications that are installed for all workstations but also included in my capture image. Historically I would just create two separate applications, one with no notifications and installed without user intervention and one for user facing installs.

What I would like to do now is just have a single application with two deployment types and use the 'Requirements' functionality to differentiate between the Task Sequence installs and the workstation installs.

Has anyone done anything like this before? I'm thinking of using either a file or registry based requirement but would be helpful if someone has already done the heavy lifting!

Application moving locally but not installing via SCCM (1603)

Hello,

New to SCCM 2012... I have a very old product application (Jolly Phonics) that has worked for years, on Windows 7. Recently a user was accidentally upgraded to Windows 8.1 and the install failed. Solution was correctly installing Windows 7 on the machine. I have been tasked of finding out why it is not installing on 8.1 in the event it also fails when we migrate to Windows 10 this summer and also to learn more about SCCM.

I am looking at both AppEnforce.log and execmgr.log. I can see that the Install.msi has moved to ...\ccmcache\9 along with the cab files. I can manually navigate to ...\9\ and run my command line msi install with switches and it installs fine. It will NOT install via SCCM.

Receiving multiple 0x80041001 errors on local machines and have to keep restarting. Once the local client is working correctly, I get this general MSI error: 0x643(1603). This happens on every Win8.1 machine I test on. I do not get any errors when I remove this Jolly Phonics from my test collection.

From AppEnforce.log:
+++ Application not discovered...
...
Process XXXX terminated with exitcode: 1603

Thanks for any help!

Content not distributing properly to client from DP - HTTP 500 errors in DataTransferService log etc

$

Hi all

I have problems with my DP sending content to my clients for applications in Software Center. The primary SCCM server says it is talking to the DP, and I have checked the Distribution Status in the Distribution Point Configuration Status; it says content has been successfully distributed.

The applications get distributed to the test clients, but when I run them from Software Center they sit at 0% and downloading.

contenttransfermanager.log on the client shows this -

and appdiscovery.log shows this -

Datatransferservice.log on the client shows this -

I have tried deploying a new application, and on a different test client too (using laptops, not VMs).

The PkgXferMgr.log on the SCCM primary shows it sends information to the DP. I've got "sending thread complete" messages.

I found another blog which indicated that the internal server error messages were to do with IIS; I updated ASP net 4.5 and checked the IIS App pools on the CAS; everything is running without errors. The content library hasn't changed. It is still the same drive location on the DP and the CAS.

Also, there isn't any content in the CCMcache on the client.

Can someone please point me in the right direction?? I really need to get my applications working!

AppV integration error: not integrated for the user

$

Hi,

I have an App-V package which is deployed to several terminal server users (not to the machine but the users).
I created a deployment type (V2) which I deployed. However I want to fail back to deployment type V1. I increased the priority of V1 but V2 still is there.

So I tried via Powershell to remove V2 but that does not work:

Invoke-Command -ScriptBlock  { Get-AppvClientPackage -name  "*App-V package V2"  -all | Stop-AppvClientPackage | Repair-AppvClientPackage | Unpublish-AppvClientPackage | Remove-AppvClientPackage } -computername $ComputerName -verbose

Internal AppV Integration error: Package not integrated for the user. Please ensure that the package is added to the machine and published to the user.
Operation attempted: Repair Package.

AppV Error Code: 010000001D.

How can I force the removal of this App-V package so I can deploy the new one?

J.

SCCM 2012 R2 problem with device deployment (user deployments OK)

$
0

I have a SCCM 2012 R2 infrastructure in place and have been using it for several months. I have noticed a problem with application and package deployments that are targeting device collections. Once the package has been distributed to the various distribution point servers and the distribution shows as successful the deployment state never changes from the grey "unknown" status. Most of the deployments I have done this way are set to run as soon as possible and for the most part I have specified that they run immediately regardless of the maintenance window. I have checked my boundaries several times and have confirmed that everything is set properly (via proper IP address ranges). The thing that perplexes me is that in my effort to get these packages deployed I decided to see if I could instead deploy to users and without any other changes I have been able to rapidly push these items (most of which are .vbs scripts that do things like copy files or create folders on workstations) without fail. The deployments often kick of within a few moments of a forced machine policy evaluation cycle. I am at my wits end to figure out why deployments go smoothly to user collections but seem to get stuck in limbo when device collections are used. I would be happy to provide any pertinent log info that would help in the diagnostic process.

I would like to add that the endpoint protection updates created through the ADR seem to be flowing (or at least the compliance state of workstations would indicate that they are). Also the Software Center and Application Catalog seem to work without any problems.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

V/r,

Chris Bolton
