I am looking for a way to pre-cache a package in the local client cache for deployment at a later date. Is this possible to do with ConfigMgr 2012?
I found this post from awhile back? Is setting the deployment date in the future a viable option?

Hello everyone,
I am working on scripting an install for Microsoft Office click to run. The Office package that I created contains many languages and because of that it is very large. I was hoping to create different programs that will run the setup from the DP (not copy all the setup files to the client cache) so it will only the language that is needed to simplify the package creation and distribution process.
My question is this. While creating the batch file to uninstall the old version of office and install the new click to run version what happens when I use the "Requires specific drive letter (example Z:)" option when creating the program and deploying the package? Will it map the DP share as Z and run commands from there? Can I as "hard code" paths to run from Z:\ in the script assuming the DP share will be mapped as Z?
I am finding that I am unable to modify an existing deployment. I wonder if this is a problem with rights or something else. Looking through other posts it appears that the ability to modify deployments has been removed from SCCM - so I think it is normal - just want to confirm.
My situation is this. I have a collection of machines created by direct membership. I deployed a certain package/program to them as "available" At the time the deployment was created, the application owner did not want to set a mandatory time. Now she does. In SCCM 2007, I would just add a mandatory time to the existing advertisement. In 2012 I find that I am unable to add a mandatory time to an existing deployment. "New..." is gray.
Looking at other deployments that have mandatory times, I am able to add and change the mandatory time easily. But where the deployment is shown as "available" I cannot change it to required.
I wonder what is the proper equivalent to adding a mandatory time to an existing deployment.
Do I make another deployment and this time choose a mandatory time? 80% of the target has already run the package - so I must not force them to run it again. If I set it to run only where failed, then will everyone who ran the "available" deployment be spared from having it run again at the mandatory time in the new deployment?
I'm new to SCCM but not software deployments with GPO. Looking to deploy Onedrive via SCCM. This is the new version of one drive that came out 11/2015 OneDriveSetup.exe.
It also needs 1 registry entry added before the install.
I made a batch file to do the registry entry that is a change under HKCU.
So I made a Custom application with 2 deployments types both customs scripts.
One installs the .reg files and the other the .exe.
Now I can make a User collection based on an AD group and deploy to that AD group.
Does that seem right and where can I limit what computers it gets installed on I don't want it to install on a server when I login.
Thanks..
Hi,
I have created a task sequence for Internet Explorer 11, the task sequence contains all the prerequisite msu's and the internet explorer setup files.
During the task sequence, after each msu deployment the task sequence reboots (and continues upon reboot) even though I have suppressed reboots. I have tired both DISM.exe and WUSA.exe command-lines and it still reboots on each update. Also each program is configured to "No action required" after running.
The deployment is successful although I'm just wondering if anyone could advise if the reboot of each msu can be suppressed during a task sequence?
Thanks all
Craig

Facing issue with package deployment. Autocad package is 6 GB. It is downloading but not installing.
Earlier we have this issue for 1 out of 10 installations. We've browsed around 5 packages in task sequence and only one step(Autocad) is not installing and from last one week, Autocad package is not getting installed for all installations. I can see it is downloading but command will run only for 2-3 seconds and will show as installed.
Separately tried installing as package, I can see complete files are getting downloaded under ccmcache but it is not installing. Manually I'm able to install package in system context.
Below is execmgr log file.
<![LOG[Checking content location C:\WINDOWS\ccmcache\1d for use]LOG]!><time="10:37:56.541-480" date="12-14-2015" component="execmgr" context="" type="1" thread="1792" file="executioncontext.cpp:1663">Need help as it is impacting a lot.

Hello,
I'm trying to deploy an application package to my company's PCs to roll back KB3114409. The deployment went out but was successful for only about 45% of my computers. There is a small percentage in an 'In Progress' state because the user has not rebooted their machine, which is fine. However almost half of the machines are showing an error status. The error codes are the same for all of them. They show one of the following:
Device User Message ID Status Type Description
(name) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 10006 Error 1647
(name) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 10006 Error 1605
Research is showing that these error codes reference the uninstall failing because the application doesn't exist on the target machine, but in the few that I've looked at they do indeed appear to have the update. I'd really rather avoid manually uninstalling the patch from all these devices as that would be a huge task. Has anyone run into this before when trying to roll back a security update? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
Greetings everyone,
Here is the scenario we setup a deployment in SCCM 2012 to uninstall office 2007 using OffScrub2007.vbs, Office 2007 get uninstalled successfully on the PC but Software Center shows failed with the following Error:
Installation status = Past due - will be retried
The software change returned error = code 0x87D00324(-2016410844).
AppEnforce log does not give me an indication of what could be the issue with the detection method.
Any suggestions how to set up the detection method on the deployment since this is an uninstall, all the references related to the Detection method refer to when the application is installed, we currently have set to detect a fictitious folder so the deployment can run.
Dear Experts,
I am new to SCCM and would greatly appreciate your assistance. I searched google on this error, but all I got is the people talking about getting this error when trying to image new machines using existing .wim image. I am just trying to make a new .wim image
from the machine that has a fresh install of Windows 10 Enterprise.
I am trying to run the capture on the source machine. Started with no issues, asked where I wanted to save the .wim file. I put the location on the second local hard disk (disk d:\ empty with 1TB of free space). Started the capture process, went through fine,
then rebooted, and came up with the error code: 0x80070714.
A friend recommended using a network share instead. I did that and ran the capture wizard again, and it failed again at the same place with the same error.
I am attaching the screenshot and the content of the smsts.log

Howdy,
I have Application setup to install a program via an MSI file and it works great. However, I also need to copy a specific file into the user's Appdata/local/ProgramName folder. What is the best way to do that? Can I include doing the copy as part of the install? Do I have to do the copy as a separate item and link the two together somehow?
Haven't had to do this before so just not sure of the best way to proceed.
Thanks!
Can anyone help with the deployment of RSAT in Configuration Manager 2012?
I have created an application with "Windows6.1-KB958890-x640RefreshPkg.msu" with several detection methods but the installation is failing. I have read various posts but unable to get a successful deployment.
Also tried a cscript with dism.exe /online /enable-feature - still the same failing.
Any deployment methods, help would be great!?!
Thanks
I'm trying to install Live Meeting 2007 client v806362.215 under SCCM 2012 application model using the .MSI. "I get a message that says the installer was interrupted before Microsoft Office Live Meeting 2007 could be installed. You need to restart the installer to try again." (see attached)
researching the message indicates that there was an issue with the elevated permissions (system account) that the install was trying to use.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
Can anyone explain what SCNotification.exe process is used for and what starts that processes. We are running “Remote Desktop Services” and have like 50 processes started, one for every user logged on and every process takes about 24MB memory. Is it possible to disable the process on specific collection?

I need to come up with Application´s Detection Method which will check for multiple updates existing, before installing the desired update. I´m aware of the powershell line to use, but how to use it like OR KBxxxxx OR KBxxxxx?

Hi guys,
I am not sure if this has been asked before but I can't seem to find a proper answer anywhere.
I am deploying SCCM Endpoint protection definition update via offline method to those clients without internet access. I am using Application Management to create the software package and deploy to my clients. Previously I was using auto deployment rule but it ran into some problem (which is another thread all together). The application deployment works fine. However, as it is an offline method, I will have to update the definition file:mpam-fe.exe and mpam-feX64.exe manually every now and then in the shared folder (source of the package).
The problem is, once I updated the file, I am not able to reuse the application package that I created, by updating the distribution point and set the deployment package to rerun the application after it was successful the first time.
Every time, after I updated the shared folder, I have to delete the whole application package, recreate a new one, redeploy. While it does works, I wonder there must be a cleverer way, right?
Any suggestion is welcome :)
Thanks!
Hi,
We are using SCCM 2012 R2 cu4 and have all roles on a single windows 2012 R2 server.
I have deployed an application which has a dependency of an uninstall and then installs a new version, which works well.
I have deployed this to computer devices as an available installation, so that it can be installed on demand by an administrator when they logon to the machine, just to control when it get installed. We have a couple of maintenance windows configured for updates which occur twice a week.
However, the application has been installed automatically during a maintenance window on a number of machines. Is this the correct behaviour since TechNet says the app will be installed on demand by a user? (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682082.aspx). Is there any device settings which could change this behaviour?
I then retired the application since it was still showing up on some other devices as waiting for the maintenance window and I didn't want these devices to have the new app, and once retired the app disappeared from software centre on those devices. However, the next day when the maintenance window ran the application was installed to some more devices. Does anyone know what would cause this since retiring the application should not make it available for deployment to the clients. Could a device setting be changed to make this happen?

Hi,
If anyone noticed that in CM2012 a deployed Application shows Application Statistics in console when highlighted any deployed application. This statistics shows following information
In my environment these COUNTs are way better then actual HW/SW inventory results so I wonder how SCCM console comes up with these numbers?
Any idea?
Thanks
Can you direct me to how to install an MS SC Endpoint Client (standalone) using MDT.
Within MDT I have imported the application and created a task sequence.
I'm trying to determine if possible to answer the few questions that MS SC Endpoint Client asks, using some sort of xml file or however it might be possible within MDT.
Basically need to accept the EULA, specify unmanaged; there are very few settings.
