I am having a problem in: SCCM 2012 RTM - Application Catalog web service

I am getting the following Error:

Componenet: SMS_AWEBSVC_CONTROL_MANAGER

Application Web Service Control Manager detected AWEBSVC is not responding to HTTP requests.  The http status code and text is 500, Internal Server Error.

Possible cause: Internet Information Services (IIS) isn't configured to listen on the ports over which AWEBSVC is configured to communicate.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is configured to use the same ports which AWEBSVC is configured to use.

Possible cause: The designated Web Site is disabled in IIS.
Solution: Verify that the designated Web Site is enabled, and functioning properly.

I saw on internet ppl are talking that this issue coz of binding between Default web site and Application Catalog web service.

I do not know the steps to solve this issue, so please help on the steps

I create my first applications and wondering how advertising an uninstallation.

1. Do I need create a new app only for uninstallation only?

1a. If so only put the uninstall commandline on the installation program location 

1b. How detecting a program was uninstall? During the installation a Windows installer product code will appear and then it is easy to target the presence of this product code. But there is not condition saying "if not exist".

I need advises for some SCCM Geeks. this my situation:

- We have three separate domains : aaa.com, bbb.com, ccc.com

- the Three domains are regrouped on only one domain: aaa

- The 3 domains has each one an SCCM site server and few distribution points

- the aaa site has the biggest collection of devices and users.

- We decide to keep the aaa site server and transfert all the collection from bbb and ccc to aaa site, after we will create two (distribution point + management point) on the bbb and ccc site.

I'm looking for some advises on recommendations on how to proceed ? and if there some one who have faced this situation?

I have SCCM running and regularly use it to deploy software to about 650 computers.

I was recently asked to roll out Expression Web 4 to a collection, set it up the same way it has been done previously and deployed.
The software installed fine but SCCM still shows 0.0 compliance - am I missing something here or is this something specific to Expression Web that I'm not familiar with?

I'm not a beginner with SCCM but at the same time I'm sure I'm not an advanced user either

I was just successful the other week in deploying Spark IM client last week. Today just kind of weird. Tried deploying a .exe with the correct format. This time problem is a new one, the software deployed is not showing up on Software Center. Tried checking execmgr.log but nothing there, restart the server, restart the client pc, but still nothing shows up. Tried doing Machine policy and software updates and software scan but nothing.

I don't see any errors on event viewer. What else did I miss?

I have recently installed and upgraded from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012. Everything is going well but when I was off a contractor came in and upgraded from the release version to the 1604 version or 2012. The EP install files are still 4.7.214.0 and I am trying to get the EP clients up to 4.9.219 as there are some new features our security team wants to take advantage of. Windows Updates are working using SCUP publishing once a month and new EP signatures are updating nightly. I have about 600 clients with 4.9.219 and 1600 with 4.7.214 and I cannot get them to take the new upgrades. I have enable automatically upgrade clients and that hasn't done anything and Widows updates just tell me to go to the control panel and click on windows updates. That doesn't do anything for me except update the client on the site server itself. The 600+ machines that have the taken the update seem to be distributed randomly with no pattern that I can see.

How can I get a copy of the updated client so that I can use software deployment if necessary and push to all clients. I have been searching the web for an answer for over a month now and every article that I find just leads me back to "control panel, windows updates" on 1600+ computers is a little much.

I am planning to add an Application catalog to our existing SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 environment. We have a single site, and single Primary Server - but with most roles installed on separate servers. I have 2 MPs, and 2 SUPs installed across our dual data center site to provide HA. I understand from the product docs that I can have more than one Website Point - and use client settings to split the load across them. What I don't get is whether I can also install more than one Web Service Point. Is this possible? I notice in the set-up of the Website Point, it does ask for the machine name of the Web Service point - so could I have 2 and point them to different Web Service Points, that both talk to the same CM DB?

Hi - i wonder if anyone could help with the above. We have sccm that was installed by a 3rd party. It was installed a little while ago and ive had some problems with getting it running correctly. Those problems are now fixed so id like to know how to say for example take a package out of sccm and replace it with an updated version (in this case our ip phone app) so all future builds get the new bit of software. Am i right in assuming that while i undertake this the build functionality will be offline for the main server and all downstream servers?

Quick question:

If i have deployed an application out to devices but noticed that one of its predecessors was not included in the supersedence list, and that app now sits along side its newer version, will adding the supersedence for that older version now to the application have any affect on devices that have already ran the deployment?

we have windows 7 clients getting applications deployments through SCCM 2012.

it was working fine...suddenly couple of clients on the particular collection not getting the applications and nothing is displayed on the software center.

verified the Site connections and re-pushed the policyes manually through config manager.  restarted sms host agent service...still nothing is working out

getting "Policy does not yet exist on the client" in execmgr.log & CAS.log

where could be the issue? please help

     I'm working on deploying Java 8 Update 101. Unfortunately there's no MSI available, without purchasing Oracle support. And cracking open the EXE hasn't revealed a usable MSI.  Thus, I've manually installed this on a workstation& following a post on another forum that I found, HERE, found the product code.

My question is this:  When setting up the Detection Rule in the SCCM application:  Should I include the curly braces '{}'  or not?

I have two Applications - Power BI June is superceded by Power BI August.

Both Applications are deployed to Application Catalog. Power BI August has the supercedence option ticked "Allow users to see deployments for this application and all applications that it supercedes in Application Catalog", so both are showing up correctly.

A certain department want to go from August, back to June.

When I install Power BI August, uninstall it, and install Power BI June, I get "Requirements not met":

When I install Power BI June without ever having installed Power BI August (e.g. fresh machine) it works fine.

When I break the supercedence link between the two apps, installing Power BI August, uninstall it, and install Power BI June will now work.

Ultimately I would like to not have to break the supercedence link so that June users can update to August when they are ready to. What is happening here? It seems like the client is remembering that it has been assigned a superceding deployment and refuses to install the superceded one.

I have a client not receiving the deployment. In fact, it is appearing in software center but never deploy. I deleted the deployment a week ago and it is still showing in deployment center.

We are running sccm 2012 R2 CU5.

In the logs directory, there is a lot of

Any idea?

I have an application under Applications with a deployment to a device collection.  The application does install once OK.  The deployment configuration screen does not have an "always rerun" option despite the "required" designation. How do I get this software to reinstall after running an OS deployment task sequence?  The device collection is updated from and AD OU group membership.  

In a related topic?  Does anyone have a tip for getting a task sequence to rerun on a computer without copying the task and re deploying the new task?  I've tried the now micro right click tools with "rerun advertisement" but I cannot get it to work consistently.  I've also tried the start-tsReruntool.ps1 and again cannot get consistent results.
