I have to deploy some Packages with sources files on DMZ Servers but when i tried i got below error in Execmgr.log.

On Production servers( that are not in DMZ) i am able to deploy same packages successfully.

I am looking for solution how can i solve this issue.

Package creation help

All i am working on deploying a hotfix via a package to install a mcp file. I've made the package several times and listed it as available rather than required and went back and forth with it trying to get it to show up in software center.  I've also tried to deploy via an application and ran into similar issues of it not showing up in software center. I've been having the program in the package and the application to be  msiexec /p <servername and file> /qn. Under the monitoring tab and checking the stauts of the deployments its showing as unknown does anyone have any hints?

Unexpected restart outside maintenance window

$

Few users reported us, that yesterday they experienced unexpected restart (they were logged off and then, computer restarts).

When the restart happened, the SCCM agent was installing TortoiseHG MSI. Deployment has disabled possibility of restart, also we have maintenance window in place. So restart should happened only in case, that user himself click on popup windows and choose restart, but users deny this scenario.

In rebootcoordinator.log was:

- Succesfully raised SoftDistRebootWaitingForServiceWindowEvent event
- ServiceWindowsManager says that we will Reboot in the future
- We will eventually reboot. Just waiting for the Service Window to come along.
User logoff notification received

In appEnforce log then:

- User S-1-5-21-1456231919-1440836737-2099212325-46178 is getting pending reboot information...
- Entered ScheduleRebootImpl - requested from 'DCMAgent'. set Rebootby = 1474902259. set NotifyUI = True. set PreferredRebootWindowType = 3
- Scheduled reboot from agent DCMAgent. Deadline local time: 09/26/2016 05:04:19 odp., PreferredRebootWindowType = 3

Could this be some kind of bug in SCCM? If I alone tried to install TortoiseHG on computer where I was logged on, I saw popup, but no automatic restart happened..And I dont think, that these users are lying :)

Deployment Domain Account

Can somebody please tell me how to know which user account the SCCM use when execute the deployments?  Im doing a batch file that needs to pull files over a network Share and its failing. I need to give permission to that account on the share, or invoke another user account inside my batch.

Installation of applications deployed from sccm from MSI are installing and working fine thru software center on the client. However when i try to push out a APPv5 package the installation fails. Ive been through logs etc and trawled the internet but cant seem to find a solution.(Either its not there or i got no idea what im looking for.)

In software center the install fails with code  0x87D0128F

ill attach some log files hopefully they are the ones that can help.

IE11 uninstall?

Hi,

We are migrating from ie9 to ie11.

I'm not in favor for rollback but it is feasable. Maybe not an SCCM question but still would like your input why it is(isn't) advisable to deploy the possibility of remove IE11 an revert to IE9.

Deleted Deployments are still visible in Softwarecenter

Hello!

Whenever i delete a Deployment from a collection, it doesn't get deleted out of the clients Softwarecenter. The Application is still visible on the client and if I click the button to install it, I get an error telling me that the Softwarecenter can't update the needed Information.

i've already tried to reinstall the Client. This removes all old (deleted) deployments from the softwarecenter, but as soon as i deploy an aplication and then delete the deployment I get the same Error again.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Thanks in advance!

What are the effects on SCCM 2012 operations if PS execution policy is set to allsigned from GPO?

$

In our organization we are thinking of changing the PS execution policy to "Allsigned" by GPO(userpolicy settings) . We want to do so on all servers including the SCCM servers .I have two doubts..

1. Will it break anything in SCCM itself as SCCM itself uses Power shell internally ?I have deployed it on a few sccm clients and on first glance it seems that SCCM continues to operate as it should .But I need to be sure .

2. Do I need to have all our Power shell scripts signed in order to deploy them via packages\task sequences ?

User notifications for available applications

I am working in a large organization and we are facing a weird issue.

We have deployed applications to:

User Collections with User experience :Display in Software Center and show all notifications

and Device Collections with User Experience :Display in Software Center and show all notifications

the result is that some users get the balloon notification every time the login to their machine and only then ,which is ok for us,

but there are a lot of users that see that balloon popping up several times in the day and they are complaining .

What we can do to have the users notified only once when they login ?

thanks in advance

Nick

Change application which is already deployed (not deployment type, just the application): howto enforce?

Hi,

We have deployed an application which had a supersedence activated but should not have. That's why client installs are failing.
We deactivated the supersedence in the application, how can we enforce this setting ASAP so installs go well again? Removed the install and deploying again but still application is checking supersedence.
Should we make a new applicaiton and deploy again?

SCCM 1606 rerun software installs after OSD task sequence

$

I have an application under Applications with a deployment to a device collection.  The application does install once OK.  The deployment configuration screen does not have an "always rerun" option despite the "required" designation. How do I get this software to reinstall after running an OS deployment task sequence?  The device collection is updated from and AD OU group membership.

In a related topic?  Does anyone have a tip for getting a task sequence to rerun on a computer without copying the task and re deploying the new task?  I've tried the now micro right click tools with "rerun advertisement" but I cannot get it to work consistently.  I've also tried the start-tsReruntool.ps1 and again cannot get consistent results.

Delivering VSTO via SCCM

$

I been given an Office addin to deliver via SCCM that is in the format OfficeAddin.vsto and with it are all the dll, xml and manifest files it needs. Installing it manually is easy, just double-click and it will install. This is for a local install of Outlook 2016 on Windows 10 (1511).

However I need to deliver it silently to a group of users via SCCM. I'm guessing that I have to create an Application referencing an install.cmd file and run that, but I don't know what switches are needed. Can anyone help?

Can't deploy a package to a distribution point.

I built a new remote distribution point and deployed all content to it.

It installed some of the smaller packages but failed on all the larger ones and was taking forever to download content across a slow link.

I enabled the DP to used prestaged content and copied the larger packages one at a time using robocopy.

Once a prestaged packaged arrived I ran the tool and imported it.

This slow process worked for all but two packages that will not install.

I run the prestaged expandcontent.exe tool and force the install.

It finds legacy content but installs anyway and successfully notifies the site server.

The only problem is the package status never shows as installed.

I have deployed it repetedly and each time it allows me to distribute content but never installs.

I know I've made a mess of this, and I could fix the problem by starting over.

Especially since all my packages are now properly categorized for prestated content.

But is there a there a more specific and surgical approach to cleaning up the one or two problem packages without starting over?

User Notification & Options During Software Deployment

Good Afternoon All -

While testing the deployment of a software package on my new SCCM 2012 installation, I saw a popup appear in the bottom right by the system tray of the client test computer.  When clicking on it, the Software Center opened giving me a few details about different stages of the deployment.

This is great for testing deployments, but could be extremely confusing when trying to silently update a package... like a new version of an app... silently in the background if ever needed during the workday.

Are there any options for disabling these notifications, software center visibility, or other suggestions?

Thanks!

Confused about App Catalog and Software Center

$

Hi All,

We have recently added an App Catalog to our existing ConfigMgr 2012 R2 environment.

The interaction between App Catalog and Software Center is confusing me though.

I've published an application, and deployed it to a user collection, and it appears in App Catalog as expected. When I install it, it then shows up in Software Center (this in itself is a little confusing - all the docs say if you deploy to user collections they will use App Catalog and if you deploy to machine collections they will appear in Software Center - and yet it does both. No matter, that's not the real issue - just a quick aside....).

The problem comes when I then uninstall that application from Software Center. Now Software Center keeps pestering me and telling me that an'update' is due on my computer and should be installed as the deadline is past. Why does it do this?! I don't want the application anymore, I uninstalled it! How do i get this to stop?

The original deployment was set to 'available', so I don't get it...

SQL Express 2014 deployment.

I have a running deployment that is working fine for SQL Exprress 2014.  let me show you the running command i use to excecute it from SCCM deployment

SETUP.EXE /q /ACTION=Install /FEATURES=SQL,Tools /INSTANCENAME=SQLEXPRESS /BROWSERSVCSTARTUPTYPE=Automatic /SQLSVCACCOUNT="NT AUTHORITY\Network Service" /SECURITYMODE=SQL /SAPWD="123456" /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS="Builtin\Administrators""rbi\IT" /IACCEPTSQLSERVERLICENSETERMS

The problem is that i realize that when i add to install the app when we do OSD , it fail.   Im Kinda guessing that maybe the /SQLSYSADMINACCOUNTS rbi\IT  can maybe make in it fail because its maybe not registered to domain at this point???  Let me know what you think about, i repeat if i push it to a any existing computer in the domain it works.  I read i some other forums that sometimes is related to the Detection method, so im attaching a picture, im using registry.

Here is the Log file i got from the OSD
