Hi all,
For some of our App-V applications we create two different deployment types and allow for customisations made in the XML configs depending on whatever requirements we set, in this instance the packageid and versionid have not changed as its a copy of the
package with amendments in the xml.
Has anyone been able to work with this sort of setup in SCCM? I have a feeling that because the packageid and versionid would be duplicated in the connection group xml formed on the client then this would fail miserably and cause client errors.

Hi,
We have a packagesource location which is filling up really fast \\ourdomain\packagesources
Therefore we decided to migrate to a new storage location \\server\newlocation\packagesources

I have been trying for the past few days to consistently get the MS Dynamics CRM 2015 plugin for Outlook across workstations. I have followed the instructions on the following website:
www.configmgr.uk/deploying-microsoft-dynamics-crm-2015
After deploying this to roughly fifty test workstations, the results were extremely mixed. On about half of those workstations, it was successfully deployed. It took some time to install, but nevertheless, it installed. On the other half
of the workstations, I get the following error:
Not sure where to go from here. I've deleted the update, and tried just installing the CRM plugin. Same result. I've recreated the Application twice, same result. Changed detection method from the PS script, to a file name, and still got the same result. Has anyone had similar issues with the CRM Plugin?
Thanks! Nate
Hello,
I have successfully created an .msi application and deployed it to a few workstations. I also have the option of deploying it with a .bat, and I have an .ini that contains some configuration information (ex. IM server name, and community). I would like to include this file in the deployment. What is the best way to do this?
Thank you,
Ricardo
Hi,
We have a requirement to deploy Skype for Business 2016 Basic via SCCM 2012 R2 and uninstall existing versions Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 Basic. Following are the tasks done and few errors caused during the deployment.
Does anyone done this successfully ? Please advise to overcome this.
Thanks in advance for any support.

Greetings,
This has happened a few times now over the last couple of weeks. At first I thought it was just a once-off bug, but it keeps coming back and I can't see any patterns to identify the cause or trigger.
Sometimes when I start a Deployment from the Software Center the Status gets stuck at "Installing" and never moves beyond that. It has happened for OSD task sequences as well as Package/programs. In both cases the same Deployment works on other machines, or has worked on this same machine previously. It's not always the same programs, and there seems to be no particular pattern I can find to cause it.
Restarting the SMS Agent doesn't resolve, it just comes up as "Installing" again after the agent has restarted. I've tried clearing the adverts from the client and no difference, restarting the computer also makes no difference... it just comes back as "Installing"
If I remove the computer from the deployment, it dissapears from the Software Center, and when I add the deployment back again it re-appears in Software Center as "Installing" again.
Doing a client repair (ccmrepair) doesn't fix it. Doing a client re-install (with always re-install) doesn't fix it either. I have to completely remove the existing client and reinstall to clear the problem, but that makes the client then appear as a completely new device in CM12 so that's not a very reasonable resolution.
The only log entry I can find that seems to indicate an error is in execmgr.log where an entry saying "OnContentAvailable invalid request GUID handle" appears several times. I have no idea what it means. Running the same deployment on another computer works fine.
Clients are all Windows7 SP1 32bit.

I'm trying to put together a deployment package (advertised application) for ancient software for which the original installer won't work (16-bit). We have a custom built PoSh script to do the action of the install (as best as we could figure out). It generally works without a problem and all the machines onto which we manually install are happy.
When I have SCCM run the same script for deployment, SCCM is reporting a failure. The logs show an exitcode generated by the script (which has $ErrorActionPreference = 'Stop'), and the log for the install script reports:
ERROR: Cannot bind argument to parameter 'Path' because it is an empty string.
The error is referring to the following lines at the end of the PowerShell script:
$RegPath = 'HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\XP, XPREP, XSHELL' New-Item $RegPath -Value 'C:\\SAXI\\SXTL\\shelxtl.EXE' -Force | Write-Debug $RegValue = 'C:\\SAXI\\SXTL;C:\\SAXI\\SXTL' New-ItemProperty -Path $RegPath -Name 'Path' -Value $RegValue -force | Write-Debug
This error does not appear when the script is run by an administrator -- only when SCCM runs it. I know SCCM runs the script as SYSTEM, but there is nothing about those lines that should fail for SYSTEM (e.g. a registry key in HKCU).
Also, the install actually works, and the software runs fine. It's just SCCM that is claiming failure. Eventually, it reruns the (file system) detection method and Software Center changes the "failed" message to "Installed", but until that occurs, my users are going to complain.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what is happening and/or how to fix it?
Thanks.
Hi,
We are rolling out a new package to around 500 users. We would like SCCM to pre-deploy the files to devices and run the install locally on the required date.
I have tried deploying application to some test devices with required date set to 2 days later as a mandatory install, hoping that it will copy the install files to ccmcache folder but didn't work.

Any suggestions how we can pre-deploy install files onto devices

Hi,
We have RDP servers of which C-drives are filling up. Is it a good idea to move ccm logfiles/CCM cache to other drive (D, which has more space left)? If yes, how can it be done?
Please advise.

Hi All,
I have SCCM 1607 in production, deploying a PACKAGE to a AD security group (user based deployment).
When I deploy this as AVAILABLE, when user gets to Application Catalog and click on install, user getting below permissions issue:
Application Installation not started
You have limited permission to request and install applications on this computer. This can occur with one of the following conditions:
The package is set to run with administrative rights whether or not user is logged in. Also set to "allow users to interact with program". User does NOT have local admin permissions on his system, however SCCM Client settings - Computer Agent - Install Permissions set to All Users and she is flagged as the primary user of the PC.
Any thoughts? Does this user need to have any windows permissions to install the software from SCCM Application Catalog?
Hi,
On SCCM 2012r2 I deploy package IE11 on several collection.
I see on several computer repport is not showing the correct information OR I don't understand really this repport.
The repport is :All system ressources for a specified pacjage and program deployment in a specified state.
It appears to be end successfully but IE11 is not installed on the computer. When we use package deployment, we can't validate with repport if the application is really installed ?
I try to find more information about this repport on the internet but didn't find anything...
I hope you'll be able to give me more information.
hei
on sccm, what the difference between retire application or delete the deployment on that application?
thanks
I am in the process of creating an OS Image to be deployed to the new machines. Now, there is a requirement to add all the updated patches to the image so that once the system is up, it shouldnt take time to download and install updates.
Can anyone please help about how can i go with this?
Also, how can i create a Image and test it.
What is the CM2012 Query statement using the Criterion Properties SubSelected values to search the registry for a display name or product key. Trying to find out how many systems are running an old Project Pro 2010 service pack.
Hi Guys,
I need to know how to get the history of application deployment in SCCM?
Likewise in package deployment, we get the entire history of package deployment status on the targeted machines irrespective machines in collection or moved out (dynamic query).
However, in application deployment we do not have any such options. As the machines move out of targeted collection, the machine is moved out of the reporting as well. We get the status of machines only till the machines is available in collection(dynamic query).
Suppose, if someone need the application deployment status (machines)of an application after 2-3 weeks later and meanwhile we do not have the any machines in the collection(dynamic query), what we get is an entire empty report. In such case, how do we say how many machines it was targeted and success on it?

Hi,
Is there a way to add Powershell 5 to SCCM 2012 updates?
If I look for KB3134760 in SCCM I can't find it. There is an item in the
http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7/site/Search.aspx?q=KB3134760%20
but I'd like to include the PS5 in the updates instead of making a seperate package for it.
Please advise.
