All deployments reporting 'CI Version Info timed out'

$

Hi guys,

I've had a recent development where all deployment monitoring is reporting 0% success all of a sudden.

Everything was working fine up until a few weeks ago, then I came in one morning and noticed all of my deployments were now reporting varying percentage of errors. Over time the success percent went all the way down to 0% for almost all deployments.

However, the actual deployments themselves are successful. As in the software is installed and logs report success.

Using the 'Application Infrastructure Errors' report, they are all now reporting 'CI Version Info Timed out'.

I've  followed so many threads on here suggesting redeployment, updating content, updating memberships of collections etc. I've had no luck at all.

If I look on an example client I see the DCMReporting log has a few errors of 'Failed to resolve version for scope xxxxxxxxx' and the CIDownloader log reports 'Failed to delete Instance Policy xxxxxx'

I haven't made any infrastructure changes to the actual SCCM build in quite a while, though I did restart the server recently.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to have software center search find applications based on their assigned keywords? This function seems to only work in application catalog.

Deploy app to an AD user group/collection - n00b question!

Hi,

I'm just getting started with SCCM 2012 so please forgive me - I suspect this is fairly simple but I think I am doing something fairly obviously wrong...

Lets say I have an AD group called "Firefox deploy" which has users in it that i want to deploy my firefox package to be deployed to.

I have added the group into the group discovery and it shows up fine under the "Overview > Users" view.I want to  create a collection based on this group. So i right click the group then select:

1) add selected items to new collection

2) I give it a name "firefox users collection"

3) I set the collection limit to "all users" (I'm assuming it should be that for

4) In the next screen I see the membership rules are set automatically to SCCMDEMO\firefox group - type direct

5) I tick incremental updates then i complete the wizard

6) I look in my user collections and then I see "firefox users collection" but the membership is 0 (zero) - which I am assuming should have the total amount of users in the AD group, so i dont think it will work properly.

Any guides or tips. I think i am doing something very very wrong... :-)

Cheers

Dave

OS Windows Back Restore

OS is Windows 2008 R2

I am using the Microsoft Deployment Tool where i create backups and have the ability to restore from this as well.  I have some old backups that I need to remove as I do not want them accidentally used to restore.  Where do I need to delete the actual files so they will not appear in the listing?

deploymentshare/oswindowsbackuprestore/...

is it under /control?

is it under /tasksequences.xml

Thank you ahead of the responses.

Deleted Deployments are still visible in Softwarecenter

Hello!

Whenever i delete a Deployment from a collection, it doesn't get deleted out of the clients Softwarecenter. The Application is still visible on the client and if I click the button to install it, I get an error telling me that the Softwarecenter can't update the needed Information.

i've already tried to reinstall the Client. This removes all old (deleted) deployments from the softwarecenter, but as soon as i deploy an aplication and then delete the deployment I get the same Error again.

Has anyone experienced something like this before?

Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,

i have a very strange issue with the Microsoft Endpoint configuration manager Console enviroment. I pulled almost all my hair off my head. So the enviroment is already builed and worked before fine. Now i created a new deployment with the Office 365 wizard. The deployment is done and ready to be deployed. We have one Distribution point and a fev VM's that are stored in a device collection. in the boundry's i created an ip range where the servers are hang in to. All the VM's have the client installed. When i push the deployment to the Device collection, it receives an message in software center that there is a new application ready to be installed. When i click on the message, i see the Office 365 proplus Application with the notification Installing... Downloading 0% Complete. When i check the deployment content, i see that it deployed succesfully to the DP. But the application wont be downloaded. Can somebody help me with this.

Thanks in advance.

Quick one IT peeps,

I have deployed silverlight via sccm and it installed successfully but as we all are aware sliverlight issues, you're required to re install this application alot of times. So my question is how do I enable uninstall and reinstall feature in my deployment. btw i have deployed it as an application (MSI)..

This is how I specified command to install and uninstall.

msiexec /i "silverlight.msi" /q

and for uninstall

MsiExec.exe /X{89F4137D-6C26-4A84-BDB8-2E5A4BB71E00} /qn /norestart

for detection rule...

A required application deployment of mine keeps failing with the error code 0x87D00213 (-2016411117) Timeout occurred. When I pull up Software Center on the device and run the installation manually, it installs fine. The application installation does require a restart.

Application Deployment - Client 0% Downloading

Hi all

I'm currently testing SCCM 2012 and i'm stuck with the Application Deployment.

When i define in Application Management --> Applications a MSI file for deployment, the client want to install it but stays forever wit the status "Downloading (0% complete).

SCCM tells me that the application was successfully distributed to my DP. I can also create, distribute and install packages with the old 2007 way. That works pretty good and fast. But not the new "applications" way.

Do i miss something? What for roles are needed for the new way of application deployment? Is "Application Catalog Web Service Point" and/or "Application Catalog Website Point" needed? We do not have a user centric model in our IT. We are still using the device centric model.

Thanks for any hints

Software Center thinks Application is already installed

I used the Software Center to install an application (SolidWorks 2014) but the system crashed while it was installing due to a lack of room on the hard drive.  I cleared all remnants of this program but when I tried to install it again the Software Center will not do it because it says the application is already installed.  The application is clearly not installed if you look at the program manager.  What do I do?

Loading Software center returned error code 0x80041001

I am able to push the agent to computers with no problem and they even populate my customizations (color and company name). The agents come up as installed in the admin console.  But every time I try to load the software center on a computer I get this error; “There is a problem showing the current status.” Error code 0x80041001 (-2147217407)

If I click within the agent ‘Find additional applications from the application catalog’ it brings me to an HTTPS site with the packages ready to install.  Is there a log I can check out?  I am a bit puzzled by this… what am I missing?

Hi,

I'm trying to deploy some applications through SCCM's software catalog but I stumble upon the error "The software change returned error code 0x87D00607(-2016410105)."

Checking some logs, I found these:

It seems that client can't see any DP for them to download the application. Searching the internet, I found similar issues that are all pointing to boundaries. I have checked my boundaries and they all seems ok and configured properly. Actually, I was to able deploy software updates a few days ago and there was no recent change done on the sccm server especially with the boundaries.

What else can be done for this?

Thanks!

Package not copying and installing on the server

Hi,

I have created a package and deployed to a device collection with three servers in there. Only one server got the package copies to ccmcache and installed properly. The  other two server did not even copied the package to ccmcache.

Trying to find the proper log files to see what went wrong but found nothing. May I know the exact log file name to look into for this kind of issues?

I even created another package for same program and deployed to those two failed servers, it was failed again.

Any suggestions please.

Thanks.

SCNotification has stopped working

Let me start by saying that I am new to SCCM 2012.

I have pushed out the client side install for SCCM 2012 and 90% of the users are working well and I am able to push installs and connect to them remotely.

I have a few users who are getting the following error. I have looked online and can't find anything relating to this particular issue.

SCNotificatino has stopped working.

Description: Stopped working
Problem Event Name: CLR20r3

The users say that it pops up in the morning and does so a number of times and then stops and they are able to work again.

Can someone please let me know why this might be happening?

Thanks

Can't delete an application

Hello.

In cleaning out my SCCM instance, I have deleted all task sequences and application deployments. I still have 5 applications left that *say* there is 1 active deployment, so I cannot delete them or retire them, but checking the Deployments tab in the details pane and the references tab in the properties both show no items.

This also stops the powershell commandlets from removing the application. Any suggestions?

Deploying FF 68.4.x on Win10 with SCCM Fails

$

We use SCCM to deploy a lot of software and recently only Firefox 68.4.1 & 68.4.2 have started failing on just Win10 systems.  We only use one package for both Win7 and 10 machines.  The installation works fine on the Win7 systems.  The Win10 registry shows an error of -2147023088 "The account used is a computer account."  The package has an install program first, then the install of FF.  The Win10 systems show the uninstall program worked but the install of FF failed, so I'm not clear how one program works but the second doesn't.  However, SCCM uses the system account and all other software, including Chrome and non-browser software, installs fine on these Win10 machines.  This just started with the FF versions 68.4.x.  I have had to revert everyone back to FF 68.3, also thru SCCM, and those worked fine.  We have recompiled the msi's and have used Powershell App Deployment kit and even tried the msi's and the powershell scripts outside of SCCM and they work.  When I search for any info on this error "-2147023088 The account used is a computer account." all I get is to make sure it's using the system account, which I have checked.  Any ideas?

Query for non-compliant machines

$

Hi,

I have managed to create a query that will find all devices that are non-compliant however the deployments it shows seem to be out of date. What I mean by this is that it will show pc1 as being not compliant for .net 4.5.1 however the deployment for .net 4.5.1 has been deleted. My question is where does the query get the compliance information from and is there a way to make that information refresh more often?

The reason for doing this query is to link it to a collection that would be dynamic and contain only the pc's that need software installed on them, we can then target that collection with a power shell script that will send wake up packets to those machines a few minutes before our maintenance window starts.

Thanks

Hi,

Is it possible to export the list of installed applications with their Shareing ID from command prompt / powershell ?

Something like this ?

softwarecenter:SoftwareID=ScopeId_1XXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX/Application_XXXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXXXXXXXX

Objective is to list all the installed application from a machine and then install the same on a new machine.
